(CHAMPVA) is a medical expense reimbursement program that provides financial relief to the dependents of veterans, including children and widows. While it is not traditional health insurance, CHAMPVA helps cover medical costs by reimbursing expenses after services are paid for out of pocket.
There are a few guidebooks available for dependents of those veterans who the VA rates "100% permanent and total” and their dependents are enrolled in CHAMPVA. You can find the guidebooks online at the VA.gov website. It is highly recommended you download the guidebooks.
